first box found

I head the story of letterboxing on NPR yesterday and
today a friend and I found our first box, in it, a
hitchhiker too (wild heart, prepare to journey) I
don't yet have a stamp but I drew on my thumb and left
a thumbprint. My friend's genius idea of a potato
carved (with no ink at hand) wasn't working. I just
wanted to share my excitement!

Congratulation on your "firstie"; your note caused me excitement too!
I have only recently started letterboxing and geocaching and am hooked big time, preferring letterboxing to the former, however there are many more caches than boxes and I happen to have a GPSr.

We heard the same story and went out on Easter looking for letterbozes and
found two! What a great "egg hunt"! I am very excited about finding out about
this too...Even my 2.5 year old can join in on most of them!
